What is 99%?
99% is a systemic roguelite currently being built at Blame RNG.
The central idea is simple:
“You’re free to think. Once you act, so does everything else.”
Instead of conventional turns, actions consume different amounts of world time.
Moving, firing, attacking and enemy actions all compete on the same Action Clock.
That means choosing what to do is also choosing how much time you’re giving everything else in the room.
Greybox Development Footage
Real gameplay capture will replace this placeholder.
Enemies commit too.
If a Crawler winds up a Bite and Echo moves before it resolves, the creature doesn’t magically follow the player.
It attacks the space it committed to.
Whiff.
Right now we’re building 99% through small systems experiments rather than trying to design the entire game on paper.
We add a behaviour, play it, see what actually happens, and keep the discoveries that make the game more interesting.
Some experiments work exactly as expected.
Some answer a completely different question.
Those are usually the interesting ones.
99% is currently in systems prototyping.
The footage you’ll see here is greybox development work — mechanics first, polish later.
We’ll use these updates to share the things we actually discover while building it.
